Converse Rubber Tracks is two years old and expanding to Boston, with popup versions happening in San Francisco, Toronto and Amsterdam. Brad was there at the inception, consulting on the design, staffing and gear, and he stayed on full time to run the show. The music-studio complex in Williamsburg, Brooklyn includes a class-A, multitrack recording studio stocked with state of the art gear and staffed by experienced professionals. The 5,000 square foot space also includes a video/audio production room, rehearsal and public event space. Unsigned artists are given the chance to record their music for free with no strings attached. Check out some the content and great bands that have come through so far.
Tanner Hall is now available on DVD. The feature film won the Grand Jury Prize and Best Actor award at the 2010 Gen Art Film Festival. At the premier and after-party, Brad (Music Supervisor) was showered with praise for the film's soundtrack.
Amy Sedaris, Chris Kattan and Tom Everett Scott, star in the coming of age story at a New England girls' boarding school. The soundtrack, which Teen Vogue called "well-curated", includes songs from artists such as Stars, The Replacements and The Alarm.
The Soundwag record label has launched! Our first release is, "Shine" by Amenity (EP and remix EP to follow). The punk anthem has become a huge hit in the band's native southern California, getting commercial airplay on several stations. The video is an intimate peek into real life San Diego experiences and features cameos by a bevy of pro skaters and locals. The EP was mixed by Brad and mastered by Andy VanDette (Mastermix). Brad also created all the sound design in the video.
Soundwag programmed all the music for the international chain of DVF (Diane von Furstenberg) retail stores during three of their recent "seasons". When we say "international" we mean just that, with stores in Moscow and Macau as well as all the major American and European cities. The selections were inspired by Diane's seasonal collections and included a huge range of tasteful and cutting edge tracks.
The single off of Jesse Malin's album, "Glitter In The Gutter", (Adeline Records), is a duet with Bruce Springsteen called, "Broken Radio". Brad worked on the track, creating an assortment of loops and percussion, for the radio single.
The Nike/iTunes alliance is a big success. Soundwag played a huge part in all things sonic related to this partnership, from producing Nike's very popular "Coaching Mixes" to producing, editing and scoring a series of interview programs for the Nike website.
The five initial Coaching Mixes all made the iTunes Top 100 Downloads during the first week of their launch. The interview series which contain original music, composed personally for each athlete, highlight interviews with Lance Armstrong, Paula Radcliffe, Steve Nash, Landon Donovan and Vince Carter among others. Locked’s latest original, “Broken Disco” spent much of last year getting heavy rotation in some of NYC's biggest dance clubs where DJ's like Danny Tenaglia and Roger Sanchez were dropping it. The Rock-House track has already been remixed by Scumfrog, Astro & Glyde and DJ Fame. Look for it soon on the Soundwag digital label, hopefully as part of the long anticipated Locked full-lenghth release.
If you saw any of the number of TV spots for Kohls “Fashion Chemistry” campaign, then you heard Brad's slamming, "mashup" style remix of Thomas Dolby’s “She Blinded Me With Science”. The track includes vocals by talented rapper, New Child.
